Why We Built This Site
Louisiana gives the public broad access to public records through the Louisiana Public Records Law, including La. R.S. 44:1 and La. R.S. 44:31 through 44:32, subject to statutory limits. The hard part is figuring out which East Baton Rouge Parish office holds the file you want. The 19th Judicial District Court handles general civil and criminal trial-court matters. East Baton Rouge Family Court handles divorce, custody, support, community property, and domestic violence. The Clerk of Court maintains many indexes, filings, copies, marriage records, probate/succession records, and traffic records. The Sheriff's Office manages jail and law-enforcement records. The picture gets crowded fast.

- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
